Turn computers and printers off at the power strip when they aren't in use.  Most new electronics use electricity even when switched "off."  According to the DOE, these "phantom loads" can add up quickly, costing as much as $75 per year.

Set your computer to go into sleep mode when not in use.  Turn the monitor off if you leave the computer for more than 10-15 minutes.
